Helvitic was founded by Julie Defayes. The site is run by Helvitic Sàrl, in Leytron (VS). We provide the shop, the payment and the delivery arrangements; each winery stays in charge of its wines, prices and stock.
About Helvitic
Helvitic is a Swiss online marketplace for Swiss wine. Every bottle comes from an independent winery that sets its own price and packs your box itself.
What the platform does
Each winery has its own page: its village, certifications, events and the wines it has in stock. Wine pages show the appellation, grape, vintage, alcohol content and sulphites, as Swiss rules require.
The site is in French, German and English. Descriptions written by the winemakers are translated automatically; the original text remains the reference.
How we work with winemakers
Signing up is free, with no subscription. The winemaker sets the prices and keeps at least 70% of the sale price excluding VAT. Nothing is charged until something sells.
For each order, the winery packs the box and drops it at the post office with the label we provide, or hands the bottles to the customer who comes to collect them. Its share of the sale is due once the parcel has shipped or the pickup is confirmed, and sales are paid into its bank account every month.
Delivery
You order per winery, in multiples of 6 bottles, up to 72. Delivery in Switzerland costs CHF 9.90 per winery and is free from CHF 120 of wine from the same winery. Allow 3 to 5 working days.
The parcel is covered in transit: depending on its value, we add a signature or extra insurance, at our cost. Pickup at the winery is free.
Our commitments
Payment goes through Stripe, by card or Twint. We store no card numbers or bank details, and delivery addresses are not kept in our database.
Alcohol is sold only to people aged 18 and over. The price shown is the one the winery sets: free delivery comes out of our share, it is not added to the price.
